MASSENA - The Massena Central varsity girls swim team steadily pulled away to a 61-33 NAC Division I win at home over St. Lawrence Central on Tuesday.
The Lady Raiders scored wins in all but three events en route to raising their record to 4-1 while dropping the Lady Larries to 3-2.
Baylee Carroll emerged as the leading individual scorer of the meet for Massena with a pair of wins, pacing the 50 freestyle in 28.27 and the 100 freestyle in 1:02. Also posting solo firsts for the Lady Raiders were; Abby Elman in the 200IM with a time of 2:45.82, Emma OConnell in the 500 freestyle with a time of 6:30.46 and Allison Dix in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:13.93.
The Lady Raiders also gained a sweep in the relay races starting with the 200 medley where Dix, Elman and Carroll combined with Kalie Peets to log a time of 2:10.22. Carroll also anchored the winning 200 freestyle relay effort, teaming up with Courtnee Stowell, Taylor Brault and Sydney Lewis to notch a time of 1:57.39. The quartet of Stowell, OConnell, Peets and Lewis won the 400 freestyle relay in 4:31.6.
Swimming to wins for the Lady Larries were; Cammie Ramsdell in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:22.81, Hailey Arquiett in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:14.55 and Alex Craft in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:22.47.
The Lady Raiders are slated to host Potsdam on Friday while SLC travels to Edwards-Knox.
