BLACK RIVER — A public hearing to gather public input on the proposed flood damage prevention law has been set for at 6 p.m. Monday at the Karl J. Vebber Municipal Building, 107 Jefferson Place, to be held in conjunction with the regular monthly meeting.

Last year the Federal Emergency Management Agency and state Department of Environmental Conservation revised the Black River flood plain after conducting a three-year study. Property owners were notified of how the changes in the flood insurance rate map affected them, either including or excluding the property. Structures built on property within the flood plain require federal flood insurance.

Village code enforcement officer David M. Lachenauer said there was only “a slight impact in the village.”

A copy of the proposed law is available for public inspection at the village offices from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
