Harrisburg man accused of stealing rifle, $800 in quarters

HARRISBURG — A Harrisburg man faces grand larceny and weapons charges after he allegedly stole a rifle and other items during two separate thefts earlier this year.

Jeremy F. Snyder, 28, of 7958 Cobb Road, was charged Tuesday afternoon by state police with two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree criminal sale of a weapon and third-degree criminal possession of weapon on a previous conviction.

Mr. Snyder is accused of taking a Smith & Wesson AR 15 rifle, construction tools and 200 rounds of ammunition from a neighbor’s home April 25. In a separate incident, he allegedly took $800 in quarters from an unidentified town of Watson resident he knew.

In July 2010, he was convicted of illegally having a shotgun at his residence. State police could not provide information on the assault charge.

He was taken to the Lewis County jail, Lowville, on no bail.
