POTSDAM The towns finances have received a clean bill of health after an audit by the state comptrollers office.
The Town Court is still in the midst of an ongoing audit, part of an investigation into whether money was misappropriated. Court clerk Mary Jo Guyette was fired last month in connection with the matter, although a criminal investigation is ongoing and no charges have been brought.
The investigation prompted representatives from the comptrollers office to take a look at the entire town.
No details of the in-progress audit of the court have been released, but the town government was determined to have all of its money properly accounted for.
