EVANS MILLS- Aleta M. Meeks, 90, Waddingham Road died Saturday October 5, 2013 at the Samaritan Keep Home Watertown where she had resided since April 11, 2013.

She was born April 18, 1923 in Great Bend, NY, daughter of Harold and Lera Hicks Patcher.

She married Jack W. Meeks on June 16, 1947 in Philadelphia. Mr. and Mrs. Meeks were farmers. Mr. Meeks died December 29, 2000.

Mrs. Meeks enjoyed camping, fishing and attending dirt car races in Watertown and Kingston.

She was a communicant of the United Methodist Church in Evans Mills.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Ferguson “Joe” and Lisa and Gregory and Cynthia, all of Evans Mills; a daughter, Glenda Cook, Evans Mills; four sisters, Patricia Kirkland, Shirley Curtis, Margaret McEckron and Charlotte Patchen; nine grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

Three brothers, Virgil, James and Harold, Jr. and two sisters, Ruth Fuller and Bernice Patchen died before her.

The funeral will be 11 am Thursday at Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Evans Mills with Pastor David Snyder of the United Methodist Church of Evans Mills officiating. Burial will be at Evans Mills Cemetery.

Calling hours are 7 to 9 pm Wednesday at the funeral home in Evans Mills.

Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc. or the Evans Mills Volunteer Rescue Squad.
