Fulk, Pierce lead NAC league meet hosted by Salmon River


FORT COVINGTON - Norwood-Norfolk’s Kyle Fulk and Canton’s Laura Pierce emerged as the individual leaders while Franklin Academy swept boys and girls team honors at an NAC league meet hosted by Salmon River Central on Tuesday.

Fulk posted the overall fastest time of 17:18.07 in leading the Flyers to a third-place finish with 76 points behind FA at 35 points and Gouverneur with 64. Jake Erdman placed second in 17:21.12 and Dylan LaVoie of Malone was third in 17:36.93.

The Potsdam boys placed sixth with 173 points while the host Shamrocks were eighth with 220.

Ben Miller was the top finisher for Potsdam, placing 17th in 19:23.71. Brandon Bryington led the Salmon River effort, placing 41st iin 20:41.81.

The girls meet saw Pierce lead the way in a time of 19:32.34 followed by FA’s Bekkah Bond in 19:48.67 and N-N’s Kaycie Saucier in 19:53.38.

The Lady Huskies led the team standings with 34 points followed by Canton with 59 and N-N with 60.

The Potsdam girls were sixth with 135 points led by Madi Dow, who was 16th in a time of 21:41.58.
