P-H soccer teams net high-scoring sweep over SRF


ST. REGIS FALLS - The Parishville-Hopkinton boys and girls soccer teams gained a high-scoring NAC East Division sweep on the road over their St. Regis Falls counterparts on Wednesday.

P-H 6, SRF 0: In the boys game, the Panthers built a 3-0 in the first 14 minutes before going on to down the Saints. Preston Frank sparked the winning effort with two goals and assists on the first two goals of the game by Joey Jacot in the sixth minute and Connor Sullivan in the 12th. Justin Frank and Mike connected for the other goals while Logan Johns chipped in a solo assist.

Kobe Wells made eight saves working the crease for the shutout as the Panthers moved to 7-2-3 overall and 5-2-3 in the East. Mike Smith stopped 14 shots for the Saints (3-6-1).

P-H 13, SRF 1: The girls game saw the Lady Panthers race out to a 7-0 lead by halftime as Kodi Perkins generated three goals and two assists. Brianna Hayes, Sophie Norman and Shay Guyette broke through for two goals apiece while Cassara Cole, Marissa Paradis, Kelsey Putnam and Megan Sullivan each netted singletons as P-H moved to 9-2 overall and 6-2 in the East.

Ashleigh Rivers struck for the lone SRF goal.

Marlee Wilson (3 saves) and Jessica James (2 saves) combined to backstop the win while Savannah Martinez handled 29 shots for the Lady Saints (0-11, 0—9).


In other NAC boys soccer action Wednesday, Franklin Academy posted 3-0 Central Division win at home over Gouverneur while a West Division matchup saw Morristown outlast Heuvelton 2-1 in overtime. Hermon-DeKalb at Edwards-Knox was postponed to October 22.

FA 3, Gouverneur 0: At Gouverneur, Alec Johnson scored in the first half while Kody Mulverhill and Isai Paredones generated second half goals to lead the Huskies (7-3-1, 5-2-1), who received three saves from Austin Lamay.

Seth Carr made 16 saves for the Wildcats (0-12-1, 0-9).


The other NAC varsity girls soccer game played on Wednesday saw Chateaugay blanked East Division rival Brushton-Moira 4-0.

Danielle Charland netted a pair of goals as the Lady Bulldogs worked their way to a 3-0 halftime lead before going on to raise their overall record to 10-0-1 and division-leading mark to 9—0. Hannah Cook fashioned a trio of assists while Katie Beach and Brianna Cook struck for the other goals.

Kennedy Boyea handled two shots backstopping the shutout while Ashley DeBeer made 14 saves for the Lady Panthers (6-2-2).
