The Potsdam Central varsity girls soccer team suffered its first loss of the season while Massena and Salmon River posted NAC Central Division shutout wins Thursday afternoon.

Canton 1, Potsdam 0 (OT): At Roger Dusharm Field, Kali Frank broke through for an unassisted goal with 3:47 left in the second 10-minute overtime to lift the Lady Bears (9-3, 7-3) past the previously undefeated Lady Sandstoners, who had not allowed a goal through their first 11 games.

Katie Clemmer made 10 saves backstopping the shutout while Bre Sapp turned aside 12 shots for Potsdam (10-1-1, 9-1-1).

Massena 2, Gouverneur 0: At Mike Nicholas Field, the Lady Raiders generated a pair of first-half goals and made them stand for the win as the avenged one of their losses.

Bailey Dillabough opened the scoring four minutes into the game off an assist from Carlie Leary. Iastha Porter added the insurance goal 10 minutes later assisted by Chelsea Streeter while Bailey Young handled the nine shots she faced backstopping the shutout.

Taylor Andrews recorded 10 saves for the Lady Wildcats (6-4, 5-4).

The Lady Raiders (5-6, 4-5) will be back in action this afternoon when they travel to Malone to take on Franklin Academy starting at 4 p.m.

Salmon River 2, N-N 0: In Norfolk, the Lady Shamrocks took a 1-0 lead into halftime on a goal by Becca Leroux in the 29th minute. Tsiotenhariio Herne made it 2-0 just 58 seconds into the second half when she converted on a throw-in assist from Jenna Thompson.

Wraven Sunday worked the Salmon River (4-8, 4-6) crease for 10 saves to earn the shutout while Megan Plumb stopped six shots for the Lady Flyers (1-10, 1-9).

FA 4, OFA 0: In the other Central Division game of the day played at the Kennedy School field in Ogdensburg, Taylor Poirier and Alyssa Tatro netted two goals each over the final 24 minutes of the first half to spark the Lady Huskies (9-2-1, 7-1-1).

Jayme LaVoie made three saves for the shutout while Jordyn Marcellus fielded 16 shots for OFA (2-10, 2-9).

WEST DIVISION

In NAC West Division girls soccer action Thursday, Heuvelton blanked Edwards-Knox 5-0, Hammond beat Hermon-DeKalb 5-2 and Lisbon downed Morristown 3-0.

BOYS SOCCER

A pair of NAC West Division boys soccer games played on Thursday saw Hermon-DeKalb turn back Hammond 3-2 and Harrisville down Clifton-Fine 3-1.
