CARTHAGE — The village Board of Trustees followed up on several items at its last meeting.

The board decided to keep its meeting schedule the same, meeting on the first and third Mondays of the month except when there is a conflict because of a holiday. Last month, the option of going to a once-monthly meeting was discussed.

“We are able to stay in touch with one another and be available for the public,” Trustee Linda R. Spencer-Smith said before the vote.

A bid of $2,550 was accepted for the sale of a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee that previously was used by the village Police Department. Andrew Hall outbid Samuel Capone, who offered $322 in the sealed bids.

A request for a reduction in a $190 utility bill was denied for Cynthia Kilburn. She had a leak in her toilet and requested a portion of the sewer bill be reduced. The board agreed sewer bills are not reduced unless the water leakage does not go through the sewer system, such as an outdoor hose leak.

The board accepted the resignation of Samuel Lundy as village court bailiff. While a decision is made concerning a replacement bailiff, village police will cover the court duties.

The board authorized the letter of intent and contracting with Bernier, Carr & Associates, Watertown, concerning the state Department of Environmental Conservation municipal separate storm sewer system automatic designation.
