CARTHAGE — The town of Champion Planning Board held three public hearings for minor subdivisions and set hearings for more subdivisions.

With no one to speak against proposed subdivisions of property on Jackson II Road by James Parker and on VanBrocklin Road by Michael E. Lundy, the requests were granted. The applicants were advised to file the signed and sealed plat maps with the Jefferson County clerk within 62 days; otherwise, the plat would be void and must be resubmitted.

Mr. Lundy also requested a minor subdivision of two parcels on State Route 126 on behalf of Northern Developers LLC. Mr. Lundy said that Lot 3 shared a border with his property on VanBrocklin Road, and he wished to acquire that land and combine the two and file a new deed. The Planning Board approved the subdivision on condition that Mr. Lundy acquires Lot 3, a new survey description of the joined properties is prepared and a new deed is filed with the new survey description. A copy of the deed would have to be filed with the town Planning Board. Mr. Lundy also is required to file the plat maps with the county clerk.

The board scheduled public hearings for Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. concerning two minor subdivisions of a parcel on Britton Drive requested by Scott Britton and a four-lot minor subdivision of parcels on Railroad Street, Natural Bridge, as requested by Eldon Glick on behalf of Dawn Goff. Planning Board Chairman Peter J. LaBarge advised Mr. Glick the parcels must be combined into one prior to the subdivision and a new deed filed.
