Its official Tim Hortons finally is coming to Watertown.
Travelers soon will have the option to fill up with gas at the new Nice N Easy store on outer Coffeen Street, then stop inside or cruise through its drive-thru to order coffee and doughnuts at Tim Hortons Cafe & Bake Shop.
Opening the first week of November, the Tim Hortons will operate 24 hours a day inside the 5,808-square-foot gas station and convenience store, said Edward J. Valentine, Nice N Easy franchise co-owner. Seating in the full-service eatery will include tables and a large window-side counter with bar stools, and will accommodate 24 diners.
Mr. Valentine said he expects the location to draw plenty of Canadian travelers off Interstate 81, along with traffic from Salmon Run Mall. The gas station will have 16 pumps.
This is going to be a one-stop shop, because well have coffee customers who decide to use the convenience store and buy gas, Mr. Valentine said. And well also have gas customers who will get the added bonus of coffee and food. It will be like a store within a store.
The eaterys menu will include sandwiches, soups and iced-coffee beverages. About 20 employees will staff the location, 10 for the convenience store and 10 for Tim Hortons, Mr. Valentine said.
As the first full-service location in Watertown, the shop is expected to capture plenty of local interest.
Everyones really excited to get a drive-thru without going down Arsenal Street, Mr. Valentine said.
