Potsdam volleyball moves to 8-0 atop NAC West with home sweep


POTSDAM - The Potsdam Central varsity girls volleyball team turned back NAC West Division rival Gouverneur in three straight sets on Thursday.

Sarah Vivlamore made lead all-around contributions with 16 service points, nine aces, three kills, eight assists, 32 sets and one block as the Lady Sandstoners won by scores of 25-14, 25-16, 25-13.

Victoria Mondragon generated 10 points, 10 kills and five aces while Erica Mason and Elna Daby both contributed seven points, including three aces.

For Gouverneur; Mallory Austin provided six assists, seven points, two aces and one kill. Raenelle Durham had four kills, two blocks, one ace, and one point while Mackenzie McBride (3 digs, 1 kill, 1 point), and Alisha Way (3 points, 1 kill) also contributed.

With the sweep, the Lady Sandstoners remained unbeaten atop the West Division standings at 8-0 and improved to 12-1 overall heading into their next match at Edwards-Knox on Monday.

In the other NAC matches on Thursday, OFA swept Canton (25-17, 25-18, 25-20), E-K did likewise to Madrid-Waddington (25-17, 25-11, 25-13) and Chateaugay beat Brushton-Moira (25-7, 25-9, 25-15).
