NATURAL BRIDGE – Ronald Murdock, 44208 Lime St., died suddenly on Thursday afternoon, October 17, 2013.

Born in Carthage on February 14, 1945, the son of Oscar & Ida Bray Murdock, he attended Carthage High School. He then served in the Army National Guard from 1965-1966. He married Donna Miller at the First Baptist Church in Carthage on August 13, 1966. Mrs. Murdock died on November 1, 2008. He was employed by various companies and municipalities as a truck driver, including; Marcinko’s, Altmire’s, Clement’s, the Lewis Co. Highway Dept., the Jefferson Co. Highway Dept. and the Ft. Drum Dept. of Public Works. He was a skilled mechanic and was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, woodworking with his wife and he loved his dogs.

He is survived by his daughter and her husband, Shannon & Francis Potter, Carthage, his son, Dave Murdock, Natural Bridge, his son Brett Murdock, Watertown, his sister and her husband, Jane & Rich Neely, Carthage and his brother, Dean Murdock, Natural Bridge. Also surviving are 2 nieces, 2 nephews and 4 grandchildren. He is predeceased by his wife, his parents, his daughter, Penny and his son, Kenneth.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage, with the Rev. Nelson Stafford, officiating. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, for two hours prior to the service.
