According to 2012 statistics from St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department:

The county had 1,855 complaints of domestic violence reported to state, county and local police agencies, averaging five domestic incidents a day.

In 2012, St. Lawrence Valley Renewal House reported serving a total of 676 individuals for domestic violence related services: 501 adult females, 27 adult males and 148 children. That number is down from the 759 served in 2011 and the 725 served in 2010.

51 individuals have entered into Renewal House’s safe house in 2012.

3,823 individuals utilized Renewal House’s hotline: 3,414 during office hours, 409 after hours.

Renewal House is the lone agency serving the county with domestic violence services. In 2012 they had 23 volunteers assisting their 10 employees.

The most individuals served by area in 2012 were in Ogdensburg, 163, and Massena, 138. Canton had 75 served, Potsdam had 70. They served 26 out of county, 5 out of state and 15 from unknown locations.
