Jefferson Campus Care, on the Jefferson Community College campus, has earned reaccreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children, or NAEYC.
Jefferson Campus Care has been accredited since 2000 and serves children of JCC students, faculty and staff and community members. Its current enrollment is 40 children ranging in age from 21 months to 5 years, according to a news release about the reaccreditation.
The NAEYC accreditation system was created in 1985 to set professional standards for early childhood education, and to help families identify high-quality preschools, child care centers and other early education programs.
According to the NAEYC website, Jefferson Campus Care and two child care centers on Fort Drum are the only state-licensed, NAEYC-accredited day care centers in Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties.
