Governments have become more tyrannical

Mark MacWilliams recently in his letter accuses Republicans of holding up America by shutting down the government and threatening not to raise the debt ceiling. He correctly states their weapon is not the Second Amendment (that is to guarantee the rest of the Constitution); they are fulfilling their obligation under Article 1, Section 7, “all bills for raising revenue shall originate in the House.”

Obama arrogantly says he won, so he gets his way. But this law isn’t even the same law he had to bribe senators of his own party to get passed on a totally partisan vote. He’s had to rename fees as taxes, give exemptions to chosen friends and Congress, and given delays to businesses. He won’t even agree to a one-year delay in the penalty for individuals who don’t want to participate.

Those Republicans also won and promised to cut spending and fight government over-reach. They are doing what they were elected to do. Fortunately, there are enough intelligent people in some places to see what is happening to this county and stand up for liberty.

Obama and Harry Reid are betting people will blame these so-called Tea Party Republicans for shutting down the government. They need to vilify the Tea Party because it’s a threat to the Washington establishment of both parties. Obama is blocking 90 year-old veterans from war monuments but opens the mall for illegal aliens, closes the public parking lot for the privately run Mount Vernon yet keeps open the golf course at Camp David and furloughs support staff at Fort Drum.

But not his dog walker. Anything to hurt as many people as possible.

This certainly seems like tyranny. This is what the Second Amendment is to guard against. That’s why Obama, Cuomo and many Democrats push gun control and control of every aspect of our lives.
