St. Lawrence University junior midfielder Mark Provost, who had four goals and an assist in leading the 10th-ranked Saints mens soccer team to a pair of Liberty League wins this past weekend, is the Liberty League Player of the Week.
Provost scored two goals each against Vassar and Bard as St. Lawrence gave veteran head coach Bob Durocher his 300th win in his 22nd season at the school.
Freshman Morgan Smith of SLU is the Rookie of the Week after he recorded two assists against Vassar.
■ Senior Dan Fritz of the Clarkson University, who was the top runner Saturday at the Cross Country-Only Championships, was named Liberty League Male Performer of the Week.
At the CCOC event at Seneca Lake State Park in Geneva, Fritz won the race by five seconds with a time of 26 minutes, 44.6 seconds (5:23), leading a pack of 141 runners. In his previous two events, Fritz has been the top competitor for the Green and Gold, running an average of a 5:20 mile.
■ Brittany Rotach of the womens soccer team and Lindsay Bryer of the womens volleyball team have been named SUNY Canton Roos of the Week.
Rotach stopped 27 shots in two games, including nine saves in a double overtime 1-1 tie against SUNY Institute of Technology before turning aside a season-high 18 shots in a 2-0 loss against Albany College of Pharmacy. Bryer had a strong week leading the volleyball team to a 2-1 week against three NCAA Division III opponents at the Clarkson University Invitational. She averaged two kills, 1.89 digs and one service ace per set.
