PETIT LARCENY - MASSENA - Village police charged Denis J. Lauzon, 25, of County Route 1, Fort Covington, with two counts of petit larceny at 1 p.m. Wednesday stemming from an investigation into two shoplifting incidents at Price Chopper. He reportedly attempted to leave the property without paying for two packages of Robitussin and a container of cream cheese on Sept. 4 and shoplifted miscellaneous items from the store on July 2.

PETIT LARCENY - MASSENA - Village police charged David C. Burcume, 32, of 147 East Orvis St., Massena, with petit larceny at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday stemming from an investigation into the theft of two 30 packs of Bud Light beer from Price Chopper. Police said they had been provided with a photograph of the shoplifter and noticed the description matched Burcume when he showed up Wednesday afternoon to meet with his parole officer, from Price Chopper at 2:56 a.m. Oct. 13. He reportedly stole the beer, valued at $42.98 He was also picked up on parole warrant and transported to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility. Burcume was arraigned on the petit larceny count by Massena Town Justice Gerald P. Sharlow, and bail was set at $1,000 cash on that charge.

FAILURE TO YIELD - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Lloyd N. Pierce, 74, of County Route 45, Hogansburg, for failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign following a property damage accident at Malby Avenue at Bayley Road. Police said Pierce stopped on Malby Avenue and then started up and pulled into the path of a vehicle traveling on Bayley Road. Police said there was only minor damage to both vehicles.

FOLLOWING TOO CLOSELY - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Emily A. Ward, 26, of Malby Avenue, Massena, for following too closely after she rearended a vehicle operated by Robert Williams of Gouverneur at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday on East Orvis Street.
