CANTON The Massena woman who participated in the assault and attempted kidnapping of another village woman was sentenced Tuesday to state prison.
Miranda M. Green, 37 Howard St., who turned 19 on Monday, was ordered to serve a minimum of 11⁄3 years and a maximum of four years in state prison after pleading guilty Sept. 19 to second-degree attempted kidnapping, a class C felony.
She was sentenced as a youthful offender, meaning she will not have a criminal record after serving her time.
On Feb. 16, Ms. Green and Patrick R. Lloyd, 25, of New York City, shoved Catherine A. Berry, 18, to the ground and punched and kicked her in the face several times.
They admitted to stopping Ms. Berry on the street, restraining her hands and trying to force her into their vehicle before their actions drew the attention of neighbors in the Sycamore Street area where the incident took place. Ms. Berry suffered bruises and facial swelling as a result of the attack.
Mr. Lloyd will be sentenced at 9:15 a.m. Nov. 6.
Ms. Green, who is pregnant with Mr. Lloyds child and is due to give birth in two months, will be placed in a facility where she will be able to spend a year with her child.
