AGGRAVATED UNLICENSED OPERATON - MASSENA - Village police have additionally charged David C. Burcume, 32, of 147 East Orvis St., Massena, with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle following an investigation into a shoplifting incident on Oct. 13 at Price Chopper. He was charged with petit larceny at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday stemming from an investigation into the theft of two 30 packs of Bud Light beer from Price Chopperat 2:56 a.m. Oct. 13. He was reportedly got into a tan GM Silverado and drove out of the Price Chopper parking lot that night. Police said they had previously been provided with a photograph of the shoplifter and noticed the description matched Burcume when he showed up Wednesday afternoon to meet with his parole officer, He was also picked up on parole warrant and transported to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility. Burcume was arraigned on the petit larceny count by Massena Town Justice Gerald P. Sharlow, and bail was set at $1,000 cash on that charge.

SPEEDING - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Stephen L. Murray, 43, of Hatch Road, Potsdam for speed in zone at 10:10 p.m. Wednesday following a traffic stop on state Route 37.
