Memorial dedication of POW/MIA display at Norwood American Legion Sunday

NORWOOD - The completion of a historic display two months in the making will be unveiled Sunday at the Norwood American Legion during a memorial dedication.

The POW/MIA display will be spotlighted starting at noon at the legion’s Maple Street location.

Norwood American Legion First Vice Commander Bob Henninger explained that family members of a serviceman were behind the construction and donation.

“Staff Sergeant Ronald J. Tuper was a U.S. Army retired veteran who supported the mission and memory of POWs. It’s being donated by the Tuper family in honor of their brother ,who was a supporter of the POW/MIA memories,” Mr. Henninger said.

The dedication, which will include refreshments afterwards, should attract a good turnout and a wide variety of people, Mr. Henninger said.

“Active duty members and military members, family, friends, and the Vietnam Veterans Legacy Motorcycle Club are expected to be there,” he said.
