FALSE ID - POTSDAM - Village police charged Daniel J. Wickswat, 20, of Rexford with being a person under the age of 21 attempting to purchase alcohol by fraudulent means at 6:14p.m. Friday at T&R Liquors. Police said he attempted to purchase alcohol with a fake ID. He was released on an appearance ticket.

FOLLOWING TOO CLOSELY - POTSDAM - Village police ticketed Steven L. Brainard, 54, of Potsdamfor following too closefollowing a property damage accident at 11:14 a.m. Friday on Maple Street.

0103 Patrols responded for request to check the welfare on a village resident.

0139 Patrols, Potsdam Fire and Potsdam Rescue were dispatched to a working structure fire at 28 Pierrepont Avenue, a multi-unit rental house. All agencies responded.Upon initial response and investigation, the fire was determined to be suspicious in nature. All residents were evacuated safely from the structure without injury. The fire appeared to have been purposely set in a first floor bedroom. The person responsible for starting the fire was subsequently identified and interviewed by police. The investigation is ongoing at this time by both the Potsdam Police and St. Lawrence County Fire Investigators. Potsdam PD were/are assisted in the investigation by SUNY Potsdam PD, SUNY Canton PD and New York State Police. Potsdam Fire was assisted on scene by West Potsdam Fire, West Stockholm Fire, Parishville Fire, and Hannawa Falls Fire Department.

0601 Patrols respond to commercial burglar alarm activation. False alarm.

0751 Report of vandalism to a Depot Street business. Patrol responded and observed a bicycle thrown through a window. Investigation continues.

0905 Assisted the state police.

1114 Traffic stop. Ticket issued.

1131 Patrol responded to a property damage accident on Maple Street.

1151 Assisted a property owner with removing a vehicle from his property.

1302 Barking dog complaint on Lawrence Avenue.

1503 Assisted a citizen in locating a package that was to be delivered to her.

1624 Potsdam Rescue dispatched to a call.

2236 Patrol responded to a bank alarm on Elm Street.

2303Patrol responded to a noise complaint on State Street.

2311 Patrol and Potsdam Rescue responded to Clarkson Security for an alcohol-related call.

2332 Traffic stop on Market Street. Verbal warning issued.
