Volunteers will be out in force today at the Arsenal Street Cemetery to spruce up the historical facility.

They will be cleaning up brush, cutting lilacs, cleaning headstones, staining the bridge and doing other work. It kicks off at 9 a.m.

A memorial service for a man who died while working on the railroad here will be held at 2 p.m.

Cemetery officials took a year to figure out where Jerome Maletto was buried. The memorial will reunite his family with his grave.

Cemetery officials have restored the iron cross that now clearly marks his grave. A plaque with his name has been placed there.
