DEKALB JUNCTION - Heuvelton rebounded after a pair of recent setbacks on Friday recording a 2-0 victory over Hermon-DeKalb in Northern Athletic Conference West Division Boys Soccer action.

Meanwhile, Harrisville clinched solo rights of first place in the West tying Lisbon 1-1 for the second time this season. The Class D sectionals are set to begin Wednesday.

Heuvelton 2, H-D 0: The Bulldogs (5-9-2, 4-8-2) ended H-D’s two game win streak as Joe McDonnell generated both goals in the contest.

In the 30th minute, McDonnell scored unassisted for Heuvelton. In the 73rd minute, McDonnell converted from Noah Steele.

Zach Lashombe made seven saves for Heuvelton.

Cody Merritt made saves for H-D (4-11-1, 4-9-1 NAC East).

Harrisville 1, Lisbon 1: In Harrisville, the Pirates (13-1-2, 12-0-2 26 points) wrapped up the West title holding off a Lisbon last minute effort where Adam Kelley had a chance against Harrisville keeper Zane Mono but lofted a shot over the goal post

“It was just a typical Lisbon and Harrisville battle to the finish,” said Harrisville coach Shane Countryman.

“Both teams are very even. We kind of dodged a bullet late in the game as Adam usually scores on that shot but Zane defended well. It’s going to be a close seed between the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds, the only difference is the No. 2 and 3 seed play at Massena and that’s a trip.”

Kelley buried a penalty shot in the 13th minute for Lisbon (12-2-2, 11-1-2 24 points) but Harrisville responded 10 minutes later on a goal from Jared Dreythaler from a Justin Hartle pass.

Mono finished with 11 saves for Harrisville. Jimmy Robinson delivered nine saves for Lisbon.
