Law enforcement agents support Mary Rain

I am writing to ask for your support to elect Mary Rain for St. Lawrence County district attorney. As a retired member of the St. Lawrence County law enforcement community, I still have many contacts with current officers. These officer tell me they are very disappointed in the DA’s office.

Over my career, I worked with Charley Gardner, Richard Manning and the Honorable Jerry Richards. One of the biggest complaints I hear is the lack of support by the DA’s office in day-to-day enforcement. I am appalled to read newspaper accounts of lack of timely prosecution of cases, dismissals in courts on procedural issues. This I find hard to believe in this age of computers. It also appears to me that this DA’s office is as adequately funded as any of the previous offices, although this continues to be used as one of the excuses.

Mary Rain began her career as a police officer for some 15 years. She then received her degree in law and became an assistant prosecutor. I had the occasion to speak to the retired district attorney for whom Mary worked. He was well satisfied with her work as a prosecutor and highly recommended her as district attorney in St. Lawrence.

I am a member of the Northern New York Freedom Fighters, a group working hard to repeal the New York State SAFE Act, a blatant attempt to circumvent our Second Amendment. Mary rode the school bus to Albany with us, stood in the mud and protested this desecration of our constitutional rights.

Please vote for Mary Rain on Nov. 5, on the Conservative or Republican Party line.
