ROCHESTER — The Clarkson University volleyball team continued its hot play as it swept Skidmore 25-17, 25-10, 25-21 and host Rochester Institute of Technology 25-2, 25-12, 25-13 to clinch the ECAC conference regular-season title on Friday night.

Xiao Liang totaled 20 kills for the two matches, and Erika Chin suppled a total of 33 digs for the Golden Knights (26-6, 11-0).

Clarkson has won 25 straight sets and swept eight consecutive matches.

ST. LAWRENCE 3, SKIDMORE 0

Rebecca Briggs matched her career-high with 12 kills as the Saints swept the Thoroughbreds 25-22, 25-18, 25-15 in ECAC pool play in Rochester.

Anna Kassab generated 20 assists for St. Lawrence (18-8, 7-3), which can clinch the second seed in the Liberty League tournament with wins over Union and RIT.

BUFFALO STATE 3, SUNY POTSDAM 0

Sarah Horvath’s 11 digs and nine kills lifted the Bengals to a SUNYAC sweep of the Bears 25-13, 25-18, 25-12 in Buffalo.

Kelsey Bashore collected 30 assists for Buffalo State (19-8, 6-1).

Jenna Blujus led SUNY Potsdam (12-13, 4-3) with 10 digs, nine assists and five kills.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

ST. LAWRENCE 3, COLGATE 0

Junior goalie Carmen MacDonald stopped all 23 shots as the Saints blanked the Red Raiders in the ECAC Conference opener for both teams.

Mel Desrochers and Kayla Raniwsky supplied first-period goals, and Alex Moore added a third-period marker for the Saints (2-5, 1-0), who also snapped a five-game losing streak.

Colgate dropped to 2-5 and 0-1.

CORNELL 6, CLARKSON 3

Jillian Saulnier tallied two of the Big Red’s three first-period goals as they beat the Golden Knights in the ECAC Conference opener for teams in Ithaca.

Emily Fulton generated five points, including four assists, for Cornell (3-0-0, 1-0-0).

Jamie Lee Rattray scored twice for Clarkson (5-2-1, 0-1-0).

MEN’S SOCCER

SUNY POTSDAM 1, SUNY GENESEO 0

Conor Engle’s goal in the 54th minute lifted the Bears to a SUNYAC Conference win over the Blue Knights in Geneseo.

Stefan Sloma made eight saves for SUNY Potsdam (10-7-1, 4-4-1).

Logan Calvey turned aside seven shots for SUNY Geneseo (6-9-3, 3-5-1).

WOMEN’S SOCCER

SUNY GENESEO 1, SUNY POTSDAM 0

Erin O’Connor scored in the 19th minute as the Blue Knights edged the Bears in SUNYAC play at Geneseo.

Julia Sanger needed to make two saves for SUNY Geneseo (5-6-4, 3-3-2).

Michaela Cole collected seven saves for SUNY Potsdam (5-10-1, 2-6-0).

FIELD HOCKEY

WILLIAM SMITH 3, ST. LAWRENCE 1

Alessandra Patrizio (12-2, 4-1) registered a goal and an assist as the Herons used three second-half goals to defeat the Saints in Liberty League play at Canton.

Emma Berry scored and Nicole Matos made 10 saves for St. Lawrence (5-9, 1-4).
