Janet E. Conklin, 75, Hermon, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Fletcher Allen Medical Center in Burlington, VT after a brave battle with leukemia. Her funeral Mass will be on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 12pm at St. Mary’s Church in Canton, NY. A celebration of her life will be held immediately following at the VFW in Canton.Janet was born on May 8, 1938, in Dekalb to Milan and Eldena (Simmons) Conklin. She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Frederick Conklin.Janet’s survivor’s include: her life partner, Patricia Rabideau; her children, Tammy (Philip) Tanner, Copenhagen, Anthony (Laurel) Willmart, Potsdam, Daniel (Cindi) Willmart, Canton and Tracy (Jeff Webster) Willmart, Madrid; Pat’s children, Jon, Cindy and Kimberly Rabideau; ten grandchildren, Philip Michael, Brittany and Nicole Tanner, Tyler, Devon, Skylin and Nathan Willmart, Daniel and Cianna Willmart and Levi McCargar; sisters, Lulu Day-Papp, Cora Walton, Judith (Richard) Califano; brother, Duane Conklin; sister-in-law, Anna (Brook) Henson; nieces, nephews and friends.For more than 40 years, Janet was a meat cutter at Pahler’s/Glazier’s in Potsdam. She was very athletic, especially loving softball, bowling, golf and tennis. Travelling was one of Janet’s many adventurous passions. She was an active lady who loved life, her family and a good time!

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the SPCA or the American Cancer Society.
