I write this letter in support of Larry Dolhof for the Lewis County Legislature. I have known Larry since we began working together on the board of the Lewis County Development Corporation in 2004 and find him to be an honest, straightforward and thoughtful partner.
He always keeps the best interests of the county in mind in his decision-making. The countless hours he has worked behind the scenes on the redevelopment of the Lyons Falls mill is an indication of his dedication and commitment. He sees the long-range good for the entire area by bringing this complicated project along systematically while working with numerous local, regional, state, federal and foreign entities.
Larry has shown a history of involvement in his community. He has been owner of Dolhof Hardware and has voluntarily served as a member of the Lyons Falls Fire Department, Lyons Falls ALIVE, the Lewis County Chamber of Commerce, the Brantingham Snowmobile Club and numerous local committees.
He was an EMT for 15 years, a village trustee for 22 years and a county legislator for four years. He continues to support the development of the Adirondack International Speedway and the rehab with hydro of the Croghan Dam.
He supported the expansion of Fiber Mark, installation of Maple Ridge Wind Farm, expansion of Otis Manufacturing and the creation of the South Lewis Health Center. Through his support of business and tourism, Larry has demonstrated his passion for the county, bringing in and retaining jobs to further the public good through economic development.
With a cooperative manner and approachable style, Larry has shown his leadership skills for years. He continues to contribute to the well-being of the county through his resourcefulness and discerning approach to problem solving. I respect this man and hope you support him with your vote this Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
