The Watertowns boys soccer teams season came to an end on Wednesday night by the closest of margins.
After the Cyclones and Christian Brothers Academy were tied 1-1 through overtime in a Class A semifinal in the Section 3 playoffs, the Brothers advanced to the title game via a shootout. CBA bested Watertown on penalty kicks, 4-1, to move on.
Tyrell Thomas scored in the first half and goalie Noah Taylor made nine saves for the Cyclones, who finished at 15-0-3.
Liam Price tallied a goal, and goalie Mike Smith made three saves for the Brothers.
Also on Wednesday, Beaver Rivers girls soccer team claimed Section 3s Class C-2 title with a 2-0 victory over Fabius-Pompey.
