This morning’s high winds have caused about 177 customers in Jefferson County to be without power, according to a National Grid website.

The power outages are in Watertown, Adams and Carthage areas. National Grid hopes to have them restored by 11 a.m., according to the web site. In Lewis County, there are reportedly fewer than five customers without power, but National Grid had that number at 40 earlier today. None are reported in St. Lawrence.

The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning in effect for Lewis and Jefferson counties that expires at 7 p.m. The wind will be out of the southwest from 26 to 36 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph.

The forecast for today calls for showers for most of the morning, mostly cloudy, with a high temperature of 62.
