Funeral services for Vernon (Keith) Hamilton, age 83, of Ogdensburg, will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 4:00PM at Frary Funeral Home on 515 Caroline Street with Rev. Walter Simmons and Rev. Robert Schirmer officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 1:00 to 4:00PM before funeral services on Saturday, November 2, 2013. Mr. Hamilton passed away Thursday morning, October 31, 2013 at his home.

Vernon is survived by his wife, Betty; his children, Sherry Hamilton, Steve and his companion, Mary Lee Lavigne ,of Ogdensburg, Vicki and her husband, Edward Przybylek, of Rochester, Lawrence and his wife, Lillian, John and his wife, Robin , Wayne , Michael and his wife, Lynn, Susan and her husband, Richard Pirie, Richard Raven and his companion, Sara Farrell, Roger and his wife, Sue Raven all of Ogdensburg; a brother, Wayne Hamilton, of Ogdensburg; a sister, Gail and her husband, James Johnson, of Tampa , Florida; several grandchildren and great grandchildren and also nieces and nephews. Vernon was predeceased by two sisters, Fay Carney and Beverly Harnist, two brothers, Earl and Clifford Jr., and a grandson, Richard Dominie Jr.

Vernon was born on May 25, 1930 in Massena, the son of Clifford and Agnes Redmond Hamilton. He attended Ogdensburg Free Academy. He first married Irene Amo in April of 1948 and she predeceased him in February of 1965. He then married Betty Conant Raven in February of 1966. He first went to work for the Augsbury Corporation and later owned Hamilton’s Plumbing and Heating for many years.

He enjoyed reading, wood working, crafting and traveling.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the St. Lawrence Valley Chapter of Hospice, the Heuvelton Fire Department or the Ogdensburg Rescue Squad.
