MASSENA: Murray E. Belknap, 82 of Liberty Ave. passed away on Oct. 31, 2013 at St. Regis Nursing Home, surrounded by his loving family. Murray was born on November 14, 1930 in Massena the son of James and Bernice (Baum) Belknap.

He attended Massena Schools and proudly served his country during WW II from1948 to 1952 when he was honorably discharged. Murray married Elizabeth Cuzzocrea on December 13, 1954 at the Church of Sacred Heart with Rev John Pendergast presiding. He worked for Alcoa for 29 years and retired in 1992 as a tapper. He was a member of the 25 year Club at Alcoa, life member of AmVets Post #4, life member of American Legion Post #79 and life member of VFW Post #1143. Murray loved to fish and hunt; he was a past member of Massena Rod and Gun Club. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, his eight children, Edward of Tully, NY; Patricia and husband David Simpson of Massena; James of North Lawrence, NY: Linda Rhodes and companion Jim Annis of Massena; Steven of Tully, Robert of Tully, NY; Norma Vincent and fiancÚ Richard Susice of St. Regis Falls, NY; and Larry and Tonya of Massena; his beloved granddaughter Krystal and Dante Smith of Massena, 11 grandchildren,11 great grandchildren, a sister in-law Marianne Belknap of Syracuse, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. He was the last survivor of his siblings, James, Roger, Raymond, Norman. There will be no public calling hours or funeral services. Interment with full Military honors will be at Calvary Cemetery on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at 3:00 pm.
