Four people suffered minor injuries Friday during a crash attributed to speeding on Ridge Road.
Jefferson County sheriffs deputies said that a 2000 Mazda sedan driven by Julie A. Peterson, 18, of 23 S. Broad St., Carthage, crossed into the opposite lane of traffic and collided head-on with a 2010 Mazda sedan driven by Harold W. Abram Jr., 51, of Black River.
After the crash Ms. Petersons car continued forward and struck the guardrails on the left side of the road, deputies said.
The two drivers and two 18-year-old passengers in Ms. Petersons car, Jasmine N. Clark and Barbara A. Simek, were taken to Samaritan Medical Center. Ms. Peterson received tickets on charges of speeding and failing to stay in her lane.
