Rosemary Carroll Peters, 90 passed peacefully in her sleep Monday August, 26, 2013 in Serra Vista, Az. under the caring hands of the ladies at Golden Oak Canyon and Hospice de la Paz.

Rosemary was born January 19, 1923 in Gouverneur, NY the daughter of the late Edward and Claire (Kelly) Carroll.

She married John Burton Peters of DeKalb Junction, NY on November 11, 1943 at St. James Catholic Church in Gouverneur, NY. They first lived in DeKalb Junction where they raised their family, then moved to Watertown, NY, then to Cape Coral, FL, and finally Serra Vista, AZ where she was a communicate of St Andrews Catholic Church.

Rosemary worked for the New York Telephone Company for 10 years and five years for Carroll Real-Estate. After moving to Florida she worked in retail sales for another 10 years.

Surviving to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 70 years, two daughters Susan Green of Serra Vista, AZ. and Katherine D’Addario (Joseph) of Morrisville, NY, son Thomas Peters (Diane) of Dexter, NY, brother Donald Carroll (Jean) of Fayetteville, NY , sister Marion Lamattina of White Plains, NY, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and several close nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by brothers Edward Carroll of Gouverneur, NY, William Carroll of Detroit, MI, Robert Carroll of Watertown, NY and sister Ilene Thompson of Wyomissing, Pa.

Rosemary was a talented knitter, seamstress and artist. She loved to entertain and delighted everyone with her delicious meals and desserts. She taught sewing, knitting, tailoring and tap dance while living in DeKalb Junction. She enjoyed traveling and did so extensively with her husband. She loved to sing and dance and always had a beautiful smile on her face.

Rosemary’s remains will be buried in the Gouverneur family plot at St James Cemetery at the family’s convenience.
