CRIMINAL OBSTRUCTION BREATHING - MASSENA - A Massena man was jailed on $10,000 cash bail Sunday afternoon following a domestic dispute reported at 11:46 a.m. on Malby Avenue.
Village police charged Francesco A. Marino Jr., 38, of 5 King St., Massena, with second-degree harassment, criminal obstruction of breathing, endangering the welfare of a child and fourth-degree criminal mischief.
Police said the incident started when he grabbed his wife, Ann-Marie, during an argument. When her eldest son attempted to break up that altercation, Marino reportedly put the teenager in a choke hold and took him to the ground. When Ms. Marinos mother came across the street and entered the residence, he reportedly pushed her across the living room until she fell on the floor. He also reportedly unplugged a phone when his wife was attempting to call for assistance.
The argument took place in front of the couples 5-year-old child.
Mr. Marino was arraigned by Massena Town Justice Gerald P. Sharlow and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond. The court also signed a temporary order of protection directing Mr. Marino to have no contact with his wife and other family members involved in Sundays domestic incident.
