My name is Eric Warner, and I am running for St. Lawrence County coroner on Nov. 5. I will be running on two lines: the Democratic and an Independent line, ECD.
I want to introduce myself to the constituents of St. Lawrence County. I was born and raised in Heuvelton and graduated from Heuvelton Central School. In 2007, I married my wife, Kiera Cilley, and in 2011 we had our first child, Kain.
I live in Lisbon where I run a small Clydesdale horse farm. I am running for coroner under three basic principles: experience, compassion and dedication.
I began working for Allen-Denesha and Allen-Nichol funeral homes in 1999 as a senior in high school. I studied for my degree at SUNY Canton, and in 2003 I graduated with my mortuary science degree and signed on as a full-time funeral director.
On top of more than 10 years of working in the funeral home business, I also am required to keep up on 12 hours of continuing education every two years. In addition to the two hours that must be related to New York State law and regulations, I also keep up on topics such as hospice and palliative care, OSHA Compliance, ethics and attitudes, burial with military honors, helping children cope, dealing with mass casualty and many more. I have had both training and experience in all the aspects associated with losing a loved one.
I am most looking forward to serving as coroner because I am dedicated to serving the community and county where I was born and raised. I have always been and continue to be involved in many organizations throughout the county. I am a board member of the St. Lawrence County Draft Horse Club, the director of ProMusica (a community singing group), chair of the DePeyster Festival, member and parade chair of the Heuvelton Labor Day Festivities Committee, secretary/treasurer and head assigning judge of the Northern New York Parade Music Judges Association Inc. In the past, I have also been involved with the Macomb Grange, the Heuvelton Lions Club and the Canton Goldenaires.
I hope that as a voter, you now know a little more about me, my history and my reasons for wanting to be the next St. Lawrence County coroner. On Nov. 5, please go out and vote Eric Warner for coroner.
Eric J. Warner
