Lowville Academy alum and Syracuse University sophomore Taylor Haenlin was named to the Capital One Academic All-District team by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Haenlin, along with women’s soccer teammates Jackie Firenze and Brittany Anghel, were named to the 12-member team. The Orange’s three selections were the most in the district.

Haenlin, a 2012 graduate and Times All-North Most Valuable Player, started all 19 games on defense for SU (7-11-1 overall, 3-9-1 Atlantic Coast Conference), helping the team post four shutouts. She also finished with a goal and an assist.

Haenlin, the Red Raiders’ all-time leader in goals (113) and assists (93), is majoring in biology and exercise science and has been named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll twice at SU.
