MASSENA — Caitlin Miller led the way with 12 points, nine kills and five assists to lift the Chateaugay volleyball team to the Section 10 overall championship with a 33-31, 25-20, 25-19 over Malone in the final Monday.

Kylie Hanley added 18 assists and 11 points, while Shelby Yanulavich contributed 10 blocks for Chateaugay (19-0), which will face Lake Placid at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Massena in the first round of the state tournament.

Whitney Legacy paced Malone (16-4) with seven service points.

MALONE 3, POTSDAM 1

Legacy generated 10 kills and Brooke Peck added 11 assists for the Huskies in their 25-22, 17-25, 25-20, 25-21 semifinal win over the Sandstoners in Massena.

Janelle Heden served up seven aces for Malone, which will face Beekmantown 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in a Class B first round game at Massena.

Potsdam (16-3) will open up the state tournament against Ausable Valley 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Massena.

GIRLS SOCCER

CHATEAUGAY 3, LISBON 0

Hannah Cook, Danielle Charland and Abbey Cowan each provided goals as the top-seeded Bulldogs blanked the fourth-seeded Golden Knights in a Section 10 Class D semifinal game at Potsdam.

Kennedy Boyea stopped five shots for Chateaugay (17-0-1), which will face Heuvelton in the championship 5 p.m. Thursday at Potsdam.

Jackie Sovie was credited with 26 saves for Lisbon (13-3-2).

HEUVELTON 4, HERMON-DEKALB 0

Hannah Thornhill scored two goals and two assists as the second-seeded Bulldogs defeated the No. 6 Demons in a Class D semifinal game at Potsdam.

Alexis Weidner tallied the other two goals and added an assist for Heuvelton (16-0-2).

Chelsey MacKay supplied 14 saves for Hermon-DeKalb (11-6-1).

GIRLS SWIMMING

CANTON 116, MALONE 54

The Bears took 10 of 11 events to wrap up a perfect season in a NAC interdivision meet in Canton.

Rachel Huntley, Clare Olin, Dasha LaPoint and Angelina Domenaeach won three events for Canton (12-0)
