A Jefferson County grand jury has determined that no criminal charges will be filed in connection with the death of a man at a Swan Road home in July.

District Attorney Cindy F. Intschert said in a prepared statement Tuesday that the facts and circumstances surrounding the July 22 death of Philip R. Pickett at 22834 Swan Road were examined by a jury, but that no charges will be forthcoming and the investigation is closed.

Mrs. Intschert said that because the grand jury proceedings and investigation have been sealed under state law, her office is unable to provide further information about the matter.

Shortly after the incident, sheriff’s detectives said that Mr. Pickett died of injuries suffered during an altercation. Mr. Pickett, 33, lived in the town of Watertown residence, owned by his parents, Robert J. and Terri J. Pickett.
