ASSAULT - MASSENA - Massena-based state police charged Michael R. Baleno, 42,of 699 state Route 11C, Winthrop, with third-degree assault after responding to a disturbance complaint at 11:48 a.m. Thursday in the BJ’s Wholesale Club parking lot at the St. Lawrence Centre mall. Shawn Webster was reportedly sitting in his truck in the parking lot when Baleno approached the vehicle, opened the door and started punching Mr. Webster before the two combatants were separated by a third person. Troopers said Baleno suffered a cut lip during the altercation.



UNLAWFUL POSSESSION - MASSENA - Massena-based state police charged George Justavino-Quintana, 19, of Montreal Nord, Que., with unlawful possession of marijuana at 7:30 a.m. Nov. 2 after he was turned over to troopers by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents at the U.S. port of entry in Rooseveltown. Troopers said Justavino-Quintana was found in possession of a small amount of marijuana during a secondary inspection at the port of entry.



ASSAULT - ST. REGIS FALLS - Malone-based state police charged Thomas G. Wilcox, 27, of St. Regis Falls with third-degree assault and criminal obstruction of breathing after police investigated a domestic dispute complaint filed with troopers at 12:12 p.m. Thursday from the town of Waverly.



PROPERTY DAMAGE ACCIDENT - MASSENA - State police investigated a number of property damage accidents around the region on Thursday. Among those:

■ Olivia C. Pepe, 23, of Massena at 7:10 p.m. Thursday on state Route 122, near Poplar Street, in the town of Constable.
