Adams man assaulted, robbed in Sandy Creek

SANDY CREEK — An Adams man was assaulted and robbed Tuesday night after having car trouble and pulling off Interstate 81. He then was approached by two men in the village of Sandy Creek.

The 28-year-old unidentified man was checking out what was wrong with his car about 9:30 p.m. when two men approached him and assaulted him on Salisbury Street, state police said.

The two men took his wallet and cellphone before fleeing west on foot, police said. The man was injured and taken to Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, before being released, they said.

State police are asking the public for help in solving the robbery.

Anyone who may have been in the area or witnessed any suspicious activity is asked to call state police in Pulaski at 298-1470.
