Adams Center- Kerstin V. (Pettersson) Moot, Adams Center, passed away Thursday, November 7th at the Samaritan Medical Center. She was 76 years old.

Born in Sundsvall, Sweden on July 10, 1937, she was a daughter to Otto and Olga Stridsberg Pettersson. She was raised and educated in Sweden. After immigrating to the United States, she moved to the north country where she raised her family.

Kerstin received an associate’s degree from Jefferson Community College in nursing. She worked at the House of the Good Samaritan as a registered nurse until her retirement in the 90’s.

She enjoyed reading, family, sailing, hiking mountains, playing the piano, and Agatha Christie novels.

Surviving are her 3 children: Carl M. Moot, Adams Center, Karin (John) Quillinan, Cicero, Brenda Moot, Syracuse; 2 grandchildren: Peter Catalfamo, Syracuse, Malarie Gokey, New York City; a sister: Boel Pettersson; a brother, Lennart Pettersson; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is predeceased by 2 sisters: Lena and Gudron Pettersson.

Calling hours will be Thursday, November 14, 4:00pm - 7:00pm at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
