Raymond E. Cooley Jr., 28, of 622 Bronson St., Apt. D5, was charged by Watertown police at 7:30 a.m. Sunday with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance for allegedly possessing crystal methamphetamine along with supplies commonly used in manufacturing crystal meth following an investigation at his home.
Mr. Cooley also was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment. He is accused of striking Sarah J. Miles, 622 Bronson St., Apt. 10, in the upper left leg with a wooden chair and pushing her into a wall, causing her to strike her head, and of damaging a $200 32-inch Vizio flat panel television belonging to Ms. Miles by throwing an unknown item at the screen.
He was processed at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building and held for arraignment.
Ms. Miles, 34, of 622 Bronson St., Apt. 10, was charged by city police with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance at 8:33 a.m. Sunday after police said they discovered her to be in possession of crystal methamphetamine and supplies commonly used in the manufacture of meth.
She was released with an appearance ticket for Watertown City Court.
