CANTON — Ryan Johnston’s goal with 5 minutes, 18 seconds left in the final period put Colgate ahead for good in an eventual 5-3 victory over St. Lawrence University in a men’s ECAC Hockey game Friday at Appleton Arena.

St. Lawrence (6-3-2 overall, 2-1-2 ECAC) led 1-0 and 2-1 in the game and tied it at 3-3 on Justin Baker’s power-play goal with 30 seconds left in the second period.

Matt Carey and Alex Hagen also scored for the Saints.

Tylor Spink scored back-to-back goals in the second period for Colgate (5-6-1, 3-2-0). The Red Raiders’ Kevin Lough added a goal, and Andrew Black also scored and empty netter with 37 seconds left.
