High school soccer: Jasper-Troupsburg outlasts IHC in penalty kicks


MIDDLETOWN — Jasper-Troupsburg of Section 5 advanced past Immaculate Heart Central and into the state Class D final on penalty kicks in Saturday’s boys soccer semifinal at Middletown High School.

Jasper-Troupsburg’s Dalton Cady scored the decisive penalty kick after the two teams finished regulation and two overtime periods in a 1-1 tie. The two teams tied in the penalty kick round, 4-4, and went to sudden death kicks. IHC’s first kick went wide and Cady responded by connecting for J-T.

IHC (16-3-2 overall) took a 1-0 lead in the 35th minute of the first half on a Zach Frechette header. Jason Reape provided the assist.

Jasper-Troupsburg (16-3-2) tied the game in the second half on Dylan Price’s goal in the 45th minute.
