Motorists facing DWI charges

Charged with driving while intoxicated and related offenses:

n Malachi D. Matin, 31, Evans Mills, was charged by state police at 2:24 a.m. Saturday with aggravated DWI, third-degree unlicensed operation of a vehicle, moving in lane unsafely and driving on shoulders.

Police said Mr. Matin was seen driving recklessly on Route 11 near the intersection of Route 342. A police vehicle was in front of him when he was seen veering in his lane and was pulled over. His blood alcohol content was listed as 0.20 percent. Under state law, a BAC of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication. Aggravated DWI is charged when the BAC is 0.18 percent or more.

He was released to his Fort Drum chain of command.

n Richard S. Peer, 34, of 26584 Boyer Circle, was charged by Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies at 2:52 a.m. Sunday after deputies said he was observed speeding and crossing the yellow lines on Route 11 in the town of Pamelia. Mr. Peer registered a 0.15 percent BAC, deputies said. He additionally was charged with speeding for allegedly driving 60 mph in a 45 mph zone.

n Ryan S. Rambo, 20, of 10524 5th Armored Division Drive, Fort Drum, was charged by Watertown city police at 6:27 p.m. Saturday at 800 Lawrence St. He was taken to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building where he registered a 0.13 percent BAC, police said. He additionally was charged with littering and was released to Military Police and issued an appearance ticket.

n Lawrence F. Montroy, 82, of 5 McCabe Road, Lisbon, was charged by state police Saturday afternoon. Police said a neighbor of Mr. Montroy reported that he had been driving his pickup truck on her lawn.

Police said the truck then was spotted turning onto Sullivan Road in Lisbon, where he was arrested.

Mr. Montroy’s blood alcohol content was 0.11 percent, police said.
