MASSENA - A Massena man was ticketed for failure to yield when entering a roadway following a two-vehicle collision at 12:06 p.m. Wednesday on Main Street.
Village police said Mohammad I. Khan, 69, of Amhest Road, Massena, was pulling out of the driveway at the Community Bank onto Main Street when he struck a vehicle being operated by Amanda Lee Stark, state Route 420, Winthrop.
Police said Ms. Stark, operating a 2003 Dodge Caravan registered to Harold N. Stark Jr., North Lawrence, was northbound on Main Street when Khan struck the passenger side front fender and soor on her vehicle.
Khan then apparently inadvertently hit his accelator and drove off the roadway to his left coming to rest across a driveway directly across the street from the U.S. Post Office. His vehicle missed striking a tree by inches.
Village police had ticketed Khan for unsafe backing on Nov. 12 after he backed out of his driveway, crossed the street, went over the curb and hit a NYSARC house. They had also responded to a report that he was struck on the lawn at his residence earlier this week.
