OGDENSBURG - An Ogdensburg Free Academy guidance counselor was arrested for driving while intoxicated on Tuesday in the town of Oswegatchie.
State police charged Kimberly A. Dishaw, 43, of Ogdensburg, at 2 p.m. Tuesday with aggravated driving while intoxicated after she was found parked in the road just south of the city.
A state police news release said Dishaw had a blood alcohol content of 0.28 percent when she was found parked in the roadway on Monkey Hill Road. The states legal threshold for intoxication is a BAC of 0.08 percent. A person is charged with aggravated DWI when their BAC measures 0.18 percent or higher.
State police said she was also issued tickets for drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle and parking in the road.
Ogdensburg City School Superintendent Timothy M. Vernsey said he was aware of the situation but could not comment on a personnel matter when asked how the district has responded to Dishaws arrest.
Dishaw is due to appear Dec. 4 in Oswegatchie Town Court.
