Black Lake homes may have septic help

St. Lawrence County is planning a Community Development Block Grant application for the towns of Macomb and Morristown to help repair and replace the septic systems of homes around Black Lake.

If approved, the grant would help low- to moderate-income year-round households with failing septic systems. People interested in participating should contact the county Soil & Water Conservation District, 386-3582.

Both towns will host public hearings at 7 p.m. Monday for residents to learn about the project and make comments. In Morristown, the meeting will be held at the fire hall.

In Macomb, the hearing will be held at the municipal building.
