Saints Arrive

St. Lawrence University's men's soccer season came to a sudden end Saturday as host Amherst College defeated the Saints 2-1 in double-overtime in a third-round game of the NCAA Division III Tournament.
The Saints (17-3-2) almost didn't make it that far. SLU trailed for most of the second half but tied the game when Austin Roney scored with 44 seconds left in regulation to tie the game.

SLU had a good chance to knock out second-ranked Amherst in overtime as a shot from Sevefe Brook drilled off the side of the goalpost with 4 minutes, 10 seconds left in the first overtime.
Amherst (18-0-2) ended the game early in the second overtime when Greg Singer scored his second goal of the game.
